Coaches Mariam Steffensen and Kirk Lovell have been dedicated to Canyon View Cross Country for roughly 15 years.  They started working side by side as head coaches in 2020.   During this time, several notable successes have been achieved, including winning a few Region and State trophies.  However, they will both tell you that the time spent with the athletes and watching them grow not only as runners but as humans is the best part of coaching.  

Kirk's day job is with the Cedar City Police Department.  He keeps the streets safe in our town for us to run on every day.  He is also a family man who is married to the amazing Kelli and has three children. 

Mariam's day job is a wife and mother of five grown children.  She is also dedicated to the track and field program at Canyon View.  Mariam feels very blessed to work with awesome people who have dedicated their time, energy, and love to these sports.
