BOYS WIN STATE!
GIRLS WIN 2ND PLACE
History Made as Boys Win Gold and Girls Earn Runners-up
Coach Daniel Gonzalez
On a cool day at the Rose Athletic Park in Salt Lake City, the Falcons of Canyon View made history, with the boys going home with the winner’s trophy and the girls going home with the 2nd place trophy. Both teams accomplished their feats for the first time ever. Also happening for the first time is both teams earning a state trophy at the same time. :)
With start times in the late afternoon, the teams had plenty of time in the morning to get in a short run with everyone who came to cheer them on. A whole busload of Canyon View peers rode up to Salt Lake to support them as they chased after a state title or two! (We appreciate all who came up! Thank you)
After a season of some ups and a few downs, the girls stepped onto the course, ready to finally earn a spot on the podium after last year’s close call. The teams standing in their way included last year’s champions, the Carbon Dinos, 2021’s champions the Ogden Tigers, and another region rival in the Emery Spartans. All three of these teams boasted one or more athletes that were capable of finishing in the top ten at the state meet, so the plaques would be decided by the depth of each team. Carbon’s Rozlyn Stowe led the field at a very quick 5:36, tailed only by Union’s own strong runner Jaylie Jenkins one second behind. Those two would remain in those places for the remainder of the race with Stowe winning her 2nd XC state individual title in as many years. On the team side, the Lady Falcons of Canyon View were actually leading the way with 83 points over Ogdens 89. Three of CV’s runners were in the top 12, a good 30+ seconds behind leader Stowe. Lydia Forsyth, Lara Sorensen, and Jenna Fife were leading the charge with Evelyn Fawson, Jane Brown, Kennedy Rayburn, and Ember Sorenson ranging from 27th to 33rd.
During the 2nd mile, the Tigers of Ogden took control of the race, with 2 runners now in the top 10, they led the team battle over the Lady Falcons of CV by over 20 points. Canyon View still clung to that 2nd place podium placing with a 15 point cushion over 3rd place Carbon at the time. Forsyth, Sorensen, and Fife all fell back a few places with Fawson climbing a couple places. Sorenson, Brown, and Rayburn rounded out the team at 2 miles within a quarter second of each other further down the line in 37th-39th.
Coming into the finish, the Tigers of Ogden never looked back, claiming their 2nd state title in three years, a bit of a redemption year as last year they finished a distant 4th place. The Lady Falcons of Canyon View were putting the cherry on top of their own historical season. The Lady Falcons were able to retain their 2nd place finish to earn the first piece of team hardware from the state championships ever! Although Forsyth and Sorensen just missed out on individual medals by finishing in 11th and 12th, they started the scoring for CV. Fife followed in 20th place, with Fawson moving up another couple spots to 22nd overall. Rayburn stepped up big time for the Lady Falcons and moved up 8 spots to finish in 29th and close the door on the scoring and on Carbon’s hopes for two straight years of trophies. Sorenson and Brown rounded out CV’s historical team. Although Ogden, Carbon, Emery, and Union all had two athletes each in the top ten of the race, it was Ogden and CV’s depth through 5 runners that earned them their respective spots atop the podium. Seeing as CV’s top 4 runners are all seniors, this was a fine finale to a roller coaster of a year, and will hopefully inspire younger athletes to rise up to the challenges of building a newer, younger team next year.
They boys of CV, although not with a team at a full 100%, were nonetheless the clear favorites walking into the State Meet. Despite a loss by a single point to Manti three weeks earlier at the Region 12 Championships with an injury scare, the Falcons rose up to the challenge, getting healthy again and ultimately becoming the first state champion XC team from Canyon View.
The road to their championship was not without effort, as the Falcons of CV needed to race well to earn their victory. The first obstacle to overcome was a race recall about 10 seconds after the gun fired. Whether that increased or decreased nerves and tension, only the athletes themselves can tell. Once the race restarted, though, the first mile was quick, with a small group leading the way, coming through the first mile at 5:05. Thomas Daniels and Payson Slade started the scoring in 11th and 13th, with Logan Hadley and Bret Sorensen continuing the scoring in 23rd and 24th. Rounding out the scoring at the mile was William Heaton in his first ever state meet race in 32nd with Nathaniel Callison right behind in 34th. Klay Brian started off his state meet career in a respectable 53rd place at the mile. The team took a comfortable lead at this point and didn’t look to be giving it up any time soon.
The Falcons of Canyon View strengthened their grip on the 3A classification by knocking off close to 40 points off their team total, coming through the 2nd mile with 67 points. Daniels and Slade moved up to 7th and 11th, with Hadley and Sorensen moving up many places to 12th and 13th. 5th runner Callison moved all the way up to 25th at the 2nd mile with Heaton also moving up to 28th. Brian rounded out the team in 52nd, maintaining his place from the first mile. 2nd place Manti needed a miracle to overcome the now 30-point gap between them and Canyon View.
Unfortunately for the Templars, a miracle would not be in the cards, as the Falcons of Canyon View cruised in to the final straightaway with points to spare, ultimately having won the title by a comfortable 47 points, a virtual landslide in a state championship setting. Emery’s star senior, Camdon Larsen, led the way for the field, winning in a strong 5k time of 15:55. The first Falcon across the line was Daniels, running a strong 16:31 to finish in 6th place overall. Nabbing the last all state medal was Logan Hadley, running a stellar 16:38. Although they missed out on the medals, Slade and Sorensen were once again side by side in 11th and 12th place right at 16:40 and 16:41. Slamming the door on any team hoping to sneak in and steal the title was Callison. He was instrumental in securing the 2nd place trophy for the Falcons last year, finishing as their 6th man and finishing in front of Carbon’s 6th man. Improving on his time from last year by a good margin of time, he finished in 24th place, moving up another place from the 2nd mile. Experience was the name of the game for the Falcons’ 6th and 7th runners, Heaton and Brian, running the first of hopefully many state championship races.
This year’s state meet was filled with firsts, seconds, lasts, and, hopefully, many lasting memories for the athletes to treasure and share for the rest of their lifetimes. Marking the journey to their state trophy’s complete, the athletes were welcomed home late that night by a welcoming crowd of family, friends, and classmates. As it turns out, Summer miles really do make Fall smiles
Boys and Girls Pass With Flying Colors at Divisional Qualification Round
Coach Daniel Gonzalez
The Falcons of Canyon View were successful in qualifying for the State Championship Final Round after running well at the Divisional Meet at Lakeside Park in Orem, Utah. The lady-Falcons were first on the course at 1pm in the A race, followed by the boys in the B race at 2pm.
The first girl across the line was once again Lydia Forsyth, starting the scoring with a 7th place finish. Lara Sorensen and Jenna Fife once again followed only a few places behind each other at 9th and 11th, with Evelyn Fawson being the 4th runner for the first time ever in 16th place. Jane Brown rounded out the scoring five right behind her in 17th place. The ladies scored 59 points together to beat 2nd place Emery by 14 and qualify easily for the state championships next week in Salt Lake City. Rounding out the team were Ember Sorenson and Kennedy Rayburn, separated by only 3 seconds and 1 place.
The ladies will be pushed by the winner of the B race, Ogden, who are coming off an uneventful 2022 and will be looking to win a second state title in three years. The ladies of Ogden comfortably won the B-heat and were about 11 points ahead of Canyon View in the 3A Meet Merge. The Falcons will have their work cut out for them if they want to bring home the 1st place trophy from Salt Lake to Cedar City next week!
Bouncing back from a disappointing Region 12 championships run last week, the Falcons of Canyon View put on a clinic, winning the B-heat over Ogden by 26 points, a virtual landslide in a race with only 9 teams. The Falcons were once again led by the Junior Thomas Daniels in third place, with the Senior duo of Payson Slade and Bret Sorensen separated by one place again in 6th and 7th, with Junior Nathaniel Callison in 9th. Junior Logan Hadley rounded out the scoring in 12th place, sealing the comfortable win. As an added insurance, Sophomore William Heaton finished in 15th, ahead of every other team’s 4th runner, except for Manti’s in the merge. Klay Brian rounded out the team in only his second ever varsity race, earning valuable experience for next week as well as the next few years.
The Falcons’ boys team will be pushed to the limit by Manti once again, as the merged results had CV and Manti as the top two teams in the state(3A) by a wide margin. The only question will be who can put it together at the Rose Park Athletic Fields in a week’s time?
Although the times were not as fast as the athletes and coaches and parents may have liked them to be, the results were indicative of a challenging state championship round next week, and there is no reason to believe that the boys and girls can’t be on top of the podium together for the first time in school history.
Emotional Roller Coaster as Girls Dominate Region, Boys Miss Out By 1 Point
Daniel Gonzalez
In 2022, at the Carbon Country Golf Course in Helper, Utah, the boy's team won their first region title since 2016 in a comfortable fashion, finishing with six runners in the top 13 and seven in the top 15, beating out Carbon by eleven points. The girl's team, on the other hand, on the up-and-up, were only able to secure a third-place finish, only separated from the top team by 11 points. The boy's team would later go on to finish 2nd at the state meet with the girls finishing 3rd. In 2023, the roles were reversed, with the girls winning the Region 12 championships comfortably and the boys barely missing out on the victory.
The JV boys were the first on the course for the championship schedule. The boys took it out hard and competed well, challenging for the win, but ultimately coming up short by a single point. They were led by a strong performance in Klay Brian, who PR’ed by over 30 seconds and finished 2nd place overall! Brian was joined in the top 10 places by teammates Nash Wilcock and Nick Randall in 5th and 6th place, respectively. Coulson Ohms and Nate Williams rounded out the team in 11th and 14th. Individuals who also PR’ed include Will Grimshaw, Rand Neilson, Ellis Lambeth, Taite Carneseca, and Tyler Russell.
The JV girls race was dominated by Canyon View Falcons, and the ladies not only scored the perfect 15 points, but also took up all of the top-9 spots in the race! The 9 athletes that finished were, in this order, Penelope Neat(1st), Kirra Lovell(2nd), Ashlyn Dustin(3rd), Nancy Fife(4th), Jack Findlay(5th), Mimi Rosengren(6th), Jori Kelly(7th), Paige Lebaron(8th), and Mckinley Bagley(9th). Those who ran personal bests over their careers were Lovell, Findlay, Rosengren, Lebaron, Bagley, as well as Daya Stevens, Violet Yorgason, Lillie Despain, and Lindsay Grimshaw.
The Varsity Boys were able to battle against multiple obstacles, including less than optimal performances, returners from injury, and a surging Manti team. Although the team battled to the end, as showcased by the multiple Falcons who were only a fraction of a second behind the runner in front of them, they were unable to pull off the victory, instead settling for 2nd place overall, and, like their JV counterparts, finish only a single point from the win. Led by seniors Payson Slade and Bret Sorensen, whom have been pushing each other stride-for-stride the entire season, the scoring got started in 5th and 6th place. Both boys were separated by only a tenth of a second, and only 1 second behind Carbon’s first runner. Logan Hadley finished in 8th place, only a tenth of a second behind Manti’s 3rd runner. Thomas Daniels, on the return from injury, finished in 10th, only two-tenths of a second behind Manti’s 4th. Nathaniel Callison ran a terrific race, finishing only 2 seconds off of his PR from Juab to finish the scoring in 13th place, and a stellar performance by William Heaton placed him in the top 15 with a 30+ second PR. Micah Steffensen rounded out the team, finishing in 28th.
The Lady Falcons of Canyon View were the class of the Region, finishing with all of their 7 athletes in the top 17, with the entirety of their scoring team in the top 12. Lydia Forsyth once again led the way with a good performance to finish in 3rd place. A much improving Lara Sorensen finished next in 5th place, and another much improved Falcon, Jenna Fife, finished in 7th. Although outside the top 10, Jane Brown, Kennedy Rayburn, and Evelyn Fawson all finished one after the other, coming in places 11th-13th, respectively. Ember Sorenson finished the team with a 17th-place effort. The ladies’ efforts earned them their first region championship in 7 years, helping to emphasize to the rest of the state that Canyon View is the team to beat for the upcoming state championships in a few weeks.
Although the day ended with heartbreak for the boys and highly emotional celebrations for the girls, both teams can take solace in the fact that when everyone is healthy, happy, and trusting, they can take charge of whatever challenge comes their way.
The next stop on the road to state is the 3A Divisionals held on the 10th of October. After that, the State Final will be two weeks later on the 24th of October, where both teams will look to lift the winner’s trophy for the first time in school history. Based on the efforts and results of the Region Championships, there is no reason why that can’t be the end result.
Boys and Girls Compete Well at Local Competition
Coach Daniel Gonzalez
The entirety of each of the Canyon View Cross Country teams competed strongly, with each team finishing in the top 5 of each of their respective races. Despite the adversity faced by the Falcons, the team has found ways to continue racing fast.
The JV Girls finished in 3rd out of 11 full teams, finishing behind a deep and strong Cedar team, as well as a perrenially tough Desert Hills squad. Jack Findlay led the squad with a season best and in 16th place, followed in 17th by Mimi Rosengren. Kira Lovell, Paige Lebaron and Jori Kelly rounded out the team, solidifying their 3rd place finish! Further down the list, Daya stevens PR’ed by almost a full minute and a half from last week!
The JV Boys were able to finish in 5th place out of 12 full teams! Nate Williams led the JV boys for the first time ever with a season best, with a PR by Nick Randall to follow closely behind! Cameron Findlay was only 4 seconds behind Randall to finish 3rd for the team, and Coulson Ohms was 4th for the team. Will Grimshaw rounded out the top 5 with a PR effort and Damon Forsyth, although not scoring, finished only one place behind him! Further down in the field, Tyler Russell ran a PR by almost a minute!
The Canyon View Varsity Girls were able to nab an excellent 4th place finish as a team, led once again by Lydia Forsyth, who not only ran another PR, but placed 2nd, only behind one of the fastest smaller school athletes in the whole state of Utah! Lara Sorensen finished strong with another PR as well in 8th place and earning CV another medal! Jenna Fife, returning from injury, almost matched her PR from earlier this season to finish 3rd for the team in 17th place. Evelyn Fawson ran a stellar PR race to score 4th for the Falcons with Jane Brown right on her tail to finish the scoring 5. Cedar, Pine View, and Desert Hills, consistent power schools in 4A, were the only teams to finish in front of the lady Falcons this day!
The Falcons’ Varsity Boys team, despite flying without two of their top athletes, still managed to snag 5th place. Payson Slade led the Falcons for the first time ever, with a medal in 8th place. Bret Sorensen was 2nd for the team, with Nathaniel Callison 3rd on the squad for the first time ever. William Heaton finished 4th for the team, scoring for the Falcons for the 2nd time after last week. Micah Steffensen rounded out the scoring 5, with Nash Wilcock and Klay Brian competing in their first ever Varsity-level race! Both are sophomores, which bodes well for the coming years.
The Falcons will now look to compete for the Region 12 titles this Wednesday at Carbon. Emery looks to push both the boys and girls to the limits, with them also competing each other for the state titles later this month. With the right state-of-minds, the Falcons will be able to win in more ways than one in the upcoming weeks.
Girl’s JV Keeps Varsity Hopes Alive
Coach Daniel Gonzalez
The returning Juab Invitational Varsity champions of Canyon View made the several-hour journey to Nephi, Utah, to face off against all other Region 12 opponents as well as many 4A, 5A, and 6A powerhouses. These opponents included, but are not limited to; Northridge, Mountain Ridge, Timpview, Fremont, Lehi, and Box Elder. The 5A powerhouse Timpview Thunderbirds walked away with the double varsity win.
The JV Boys got the evening started, and showcased a good effort of “moving up as a team,” starting in the middle bottom of the table, and moving up 4 team spots(and 1 point out of 5) by the finish! Leading the 8th-place JV squad was Klay Brian in 18:18, finishing in 40th place overall, in a race with over 350 finishers! Nathan Williams followed closely in 44th. Coulsen Ohms moved up to 3rd for the Falcons’ JV team, finishing in 58th overall. The JV Falcons had only the Emery Spartans finish in front of them when considering Region 12 opponents, which bodes well for a good fight at the Region championships later this season.
The JV Girls were next on the line, leading the way for Region 12 schools, finishing in a very respectable 4th place out of 15 JV girls teams! Kira Lovell led the charge through mile 1, crossing the mat in the top 6, followed closely by Ember Sorenson and Nancy Fife. Lovell faded a little but was able to hang on for a strong 16th place finish, running another PR(22:10) on the season. Nancy Fife and Ember Sorenson both were able to finish well, both finishing the 3 mile course in PR efforts (21:23 and 21:40) as well as medaling positions(top 10)! Both Sorenson and Fife would have finished close to the Falcon’s 5th Varsity runner, building the depth of the Falcons for the rest of the season. Mimi Rosengren and Mckinley Bagley rounded out the scoring 5, both with PR’s of their own. A majority of the JV girls ran either a personal best or season best for 3 miles this meet.
The Varsity Girls raced next, and hampered by sickness and injury, still managed to finish in a very strong 8th place out of 16 full varsity teams! Led by Lydia Forsyth once again, who managed to run under 19 minutes for the first time ever with an impressive 18:49 over 3 miles! She was followed by Lara Sorensen, who dipped under 20 minutes for the first time ever with her 19:47 effort! Jane Brown was close behind with a season best of 20:25, and Evelyn Fawson(PR) and Kennedy Rayburn closed out the scoring for the Varsity Girls! Despite being down another 2 athletes, the Varsity girls only finished 30 points and 1 place behind Region opponent Emery, and finished in front of every other Region 12 team. The JV girls race showed that there is still depth for the varsity girls to draw from, along with the athletes who will likely be returning by the end of the season.
The Varsity Boys toed the line last for the day, and showed why they are fovorites to compete for the 3A state team title next month. A gutsy first mile by Camdon Larsen pulled the field through in a very fast sub-5 minute first mile. Larsen held on to win in a strong effort of 15:05. The Timpview Boys controlled the race and finished in first with only 56 points. Large-school and teams Fremont and Lehi followed closely behind, with the Falcons finishing in 4th place by a small margin. The next closest 3A opponent was 38 points behind in the form of the Emery Spartans, who had the overall race winner. Thomas Daniels led the way in 12th place with a 15:52 effort, a PR. Payson Slade and Bret Sorensen finished neck and neck in 21st and 22nd with PR efforts of their own(16:07), and Logan Hadley struggled to hang on but still finished a respectable 16:17, in 30th place overall. Nathaniel Callison closed out the scoring with a strong PR of 16:42, inching his way closer to the front 4 athletes week-by-week. Micah Steffensen and William Heaton closed the door for the top 7 Falcons with great PR’s of their own! The boys team only finished behind some strong, large teams who, according to athletic.net, all have 3-mile team efforts placing them in the top 10 in the entire state, regardless of division. The Falcons also finished in front of Mountain Ridge and Northridge, the latter of whom finished in the top 10 of 5A last year!
So, despite a day with few medals, and no trophies, athletes, parents, and coaches can go home with the satisfaction of strong team efforts, many personal bests, and a statement to fellow Region 12 teams, that they are not here to play games, but to win 3A titles. The largest meet of the season dragged the Falcons of Canyon View to new heights, giving them a glimpse of the possibilities ahead of them.
Three-Thirds Make A Whole
Coach Daniel Gonzalez
The Falcons of Canyon View descended on Bicentennial Park in Cedar City to compete against some of the best competition Southern Utah has to offer. Of the 4 levels of competition offered(Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls, JV Boys, and JV Girls) Canyon View walked away with three third-place finishes, highlighting a whole-team effort through the morning.
Starting the morning off with the Varsity Boys, Thomas Daniels led the way in 2nd place overall, challenging Pine View’s Talmage Wright stride for stride until the finish line. Not far behind, Logan Hadley finished in a respectable 6th place, passing several runners in the final meters. Bret Sorensen finished 14th while running close to his time from last week, albeit on a more difficult course this time around. Payson Slade and Nathaniel Callison rounded out the scoring 5 with Will Heaton and Micah Steffensen finishing up the team. While the overall team finish(3rd) may not have been where the team would have liked to end up on the day, the comparison to last year’s team on the same course bodes well for results in the coming weeks and months. 2022’s team time(Combined time of the top 5 runners) was 1:25:55, with 2023’s total time being 1:23:48, over two minutes faster as a team with 3 runners this year ahead of last year’s first runner!
Lydia Forsyth once again led the Varsity Girls with a 5th place overall finish in a very respectable 19:35, only 2 seconds slower than last week. Jenna Fife continues her rise with a 14th place finish, scoring 2nd for the Falcons. Jane Brown, Kennedy Rayburn, and Evelyn Fawson rounded out the scoring 5 for the varsity 5, paving the way for their 3rd place finish. Much like the boys, this year’s team has improved, with their team time dropping a minute from last year! With athletes to get healthy and sharpen, these results also indicate the beginning of improvement over last year’s strong team finish.
William Rosengren led the JV boys to a mid-pack 7th place finish with his 32nd overall JV placing. Boys who improved on their times from last week include Nicholas Randall(7 seconds), Nate Williams(25 seconds), and Taite Carnesecca(2 minutes, 49 seconds). The scoring 5 of the JV boys were only spread by 44 seconds, one of the smallest gaps in the field of 13 teams.
After missing last week’s race, Lara Sorensen led the way for the JV girls, leading the entire field for a majority of the race and blazing through the first mile in the low 6 minute range before relinquishing 1st place to Monticello’s Marah Long in the final half mile. A gutsy first race of the season that will hopefully lead to even better performances throughout the second half of the season. Kirra Lovell finished 2nd for the Falcons in 16th place and the pack of 9th graders; Nancy Fife, McKinley Bagley, and Eliza Rice, rounded out the scoring from 27th-29th, solidifying the team’s 3rd place finish. Although no athletes improved on their times from last week, there were multiple runners who finished within a minute of their times last week!
Although there were no team awards handed out this week, the teams can rest well, knowing that the ultimate goal, a whole-team goal, one of state championships, can be better aimed towards after this weekend’s competition in Cedar City. A truer comparison of 3A teams in Region 12 will be coming up on the 7th of September, with all teams competing at the Juab invite, where the Falcons took home the 1st place hardware in both races last year. The question may not be can these teams do it again, but by how many points will they win this year by?
Richfield Invite
Coach Daniel Gonzalez
The most extensive and competitive Richfield Invite in recent memory ended with Canyon View taking the top spots in both the boy’s and girl's races, winning by 14 points each!
Boys
Emery’s Camdon Larsen led the boys' race, traversing the 3-mile course in 15:08, a huge PR! Emery and Canyon View took up the top 9 spots in the race, with the Falcons taking the win because of their stronger 5th man. Manti finished another 27 points behind Emery with 67 points, and Richfield finished in 4th with 82 points. Non-region 12 member South Sevier finished in 5th with 158 points, and Juab finished last with 182 points. We can expect another Region 12 preview at the Juab invite in 2 weeks, with Carbon, Delta, and North Sanpete scheduled to race along with the other 5 Region 12 schools.
CV’s Thomas Daniels and Logan Hadley were in 2nd and 3rd, finishing at 15:56 and 15:59, with teammates Bret Sorensen, Payson Slade, and Nathaniel Callison finishing well in 5th, 7th, and 9th, respectively. Emery’s Dillan Larsen finished 4th, with Jack Christiansen in 6th and Mason Hurdsman in 8th. Their 5th man was Stetson Albrecht, in 21st place. If they can close the gap between their 4th and 5th man, this team could be a challenging opponent come the end of the season.
Also running huge PR’s from last year are CV’s 6th and 7th runners Micah Steffensen and William Heaton, well under 18 minutes!
Girls
Emery had double individual winners, with Addie Hurst winning in a sizeable PR time of 18:44. Her teammate Gentry Christiansen finished 2nd with a solid 19:07. Their strong 1-2 combo helped lead their teams to a 2nd place with 60 points. Canyon View’s Lydia Forsyth(4th) led the weakened Canyon View Falcons to a comfortable victory with 46 points. Richfield (98) finished in 3rd, Manti(103) in 4th, Juab(140), and South Sevier(172) in last.
The Falcons’ biggest surprises were 2nd runner Jenna Fife(5th) with a huge PR under 20:15, and 4th runner Kennedy Rayburn(13th). Evelyn Fawson(15th) also stepped up with her first Varsity team contribution and Personal best! The Falcons of Canyon View will meet up with a slightly more challenging opponent in the Carbon Dinos at the Juab invite 2 weeks from now.
Brighten Goold(12th) led the way for the Richfield Wildcats, with Helen Grover(8th) leading the way for Manti. Taija Davis(17th) led the charge for the Wasps of Juab.
Upcoming Meets
UIAAA Invite
Carbon, Emery, Richfield, North Sanpete, and Juab will be making an appearance along with some larger and stronger schools up in Spanish Fork at the UIAAA invitational.
SUU Invite
Canyon View will stay local and look to challenge the perennial powerhouses of Southern Utah this weekend. Although 4A powerhouse Desert Hills may be planning on racing their Varsity at the UIAAA invite up north instead of here, expect Pine View, Cedar, and Hurricane to give the Falcons of CV a good run for their money, given the history of quality teams hailing from each school. If the Canyon View Falcons can be healthy, confident, and trusting of one another, there is no reason the boys and girls can’t come away with another double win this weekend.
Delta
It would appear that Delta plan on running at the Timpanogos Invite on the 1st of September, so look for an update on their performance after then.
